KOVAL Distillery of Chicago, Illinois has announced a new addition to its line of gins with the release of KOVAL Cranberry Gin Liqueur.
Made with ingredients sourced from local organic Midwestern farmers, the Cranberry Gin Liqueur offers an enticing blend of fruit-forward and bittersweet flavors, surrounded by the crisp, well-rounded notes of KOVAL Gin’s signature 13 botanicals.
“This new direction in KOVAL’s line is an homage to aperitif culture,” said KOVAL’s President and co-founder Dr. Sonat Birnecker Hart. “It is an excellent base for easy, enticing cocktails and spritzes for all seasons.” Simply mix with a splash of Prosecco or any sparkling water, or even incorporate into a classic mulled wine recipe when the holidays approach.
The distillery says that with its dazzling all-natural ruby color and refreshing tart sweetness, KOVAL’s Cranberry Gin Liqueur makes for an approachable yet distinctive way to play with new flavors and enhance classic recipes.
KOVAL Cranberry Gin Liqueur is bottled at 60 proof (30% ABV) and will be released on Friday, August 10th in Illinois and New York, and soon thereafter will begin rolling out nationally and internationally.
Koval produces a wide range of craft spirits including bourbon, rye, four grain, millet, oat and white rye whiskies; an aged and unaged gin; a vodka; caraway, coffee, ginger, rose hip and chrysanthemum and honey liqueurs; a pair of brandies and many seasonal spirits. Their spirits are distributed in 47 states (sorry Alaska, Arizona and New Mexico) and 50 export markets around the world.
Last year, the husband and wife Koval Distillery co-founders, Dr. Robert Birnecker and Dr. Sonat Birnecker Hart were named the 2017 Illinois Small Business Persons of the Year. The company employs about 50 full and part-time people and expects to add new employees as the operation expands into a new 45,000 square foot space. Sonat says they are currently working on plans to celebrate their 10 year anniversary later this year. Be on the lookout for a special release spirit as they celebrate their first decade.
