Since 1801, Burns Night has been held annually on January 25. Over the last 200 plus years, it has grown into an institution of Scottish life, celebrating the life and poetry of one of the world’s most popular writers, Robert Burns. Burns is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland. He’s best known worldwide for penning his poem in 1788, turned into song that we all sing at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve, Auld Lang Syne.
Burns Night is marked by an evening of traditional Scottish elements, including bagpipes, Scottish fare, poetry and of course Scotch whisky. A Burns Night Supper makes for a truly unique and animated celebration.

The Words to Auld Lang Syne
Should Old Acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
The flames of Love extinguished,
and fully past and gone:
Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold,
that loving Breast of thine;
That thou canst never once reflect
On old long syne.
- CHORUS:
- On old long syne my Jo,
On old long syne,
That thou canst never once reflect,
On old long syne.
