Jefferson's Presidential Select 16 Year Old Bourbon

Jefferson’s Bourbon is a whiskey brand known for finding six plus year old Kentucky bourbons and finishing them with their own unique flair at their Kentucky Artisan Distillery home. Jefferson’s Bourbon along with parent company Castle Brands has announced the national distribution of their latest release Jefferson’s Presidential 16 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The company says this latest product release is a tribute to the brand’s namesake, Thomas Jefferson and maturation.

Jefferson’s Bourbon Founder Trey Zoeller said, “I think distillation is a science that’s been perfected over the last 150 years, specifically in bourbon…the heart and soul of bourbon comes from the maturation process. I wanted to use my time and efforts based on what we can do with maturation.”

Twin Oaked for 11 + 5 = 16 Years

Jefferson's Presidential Select 16 Year Old Twin Oak Bourbon - Twin Oak Label

The Jefferson’s Presidential Select 16 Year Old underwent a unique aging process. The bourbon, which started as a straight Kentucky Bourbon whiskey, was first fully matured for 11 years in new American Oak casks. From there, the bourbon was aged for an additional five years in fresh casks. The company says the resulting product retains the bright notes found in a classic bourbon, but adds a depth of flavor and complexity that can be gained only through long years of extra aging in new barrels. Tasting notes for the Jefferson’s Presidential Select 16 Year Old include an orange spice and vanilla aroma, with hints of tobacco, leather and spice, and warm molasses on the finish.

Jefferson’s Presidential Select 16 Year Old Bourbon is bottled at 47%ABV / 94 proof with a suggested retail price of $199.99 for 750ml bottle. This limited release includes 10,000 that are now available nationwide.
