Occasionally you make a marketing spend and it’s a swing and a miss while other times you hit a single or a double. Then on a good night, when you are in the zone, you knock it out of the park. Craft spirits maker Casey Jones Distillery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky hit a homerun over the last couple years with their Minor League Baseball sponsorship of “Bootlegger Nights.”

After finding success with their initial baseball sponsorship Casey Jones Distillery has announced a major sponsorship with the Bowling Green Hot Rods Minor League Baseball Team. The Hot Rods are a Minor League Baseball team and Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Under the terms of the agreement, Casey Jones Distillery will serve as the title sponsor of the Hot Rod’s nationally recognized “Bootlegger Nights” for the 2019 season.

The team is experiencing tremendous positive momentum having just won the 2018 Midwest League. The partnership with Casey Jones Distillery follows a series of announcements for the team including major stadium renovations and a recent change of ownership.

Originating in 2016, the first “Bootlegger Night” featured a complete rebranding of the Hot Rods team as the Bowling Green Bootleggers for a single night. The concept proved wildly successful and earned the Hot Rods the ​MiLBY award for top promotion​ in the same season. For 2019, the Hot Rods will be rebranded as the Bootleggers every Thursday night with Casey Jones Distillery featured as the title sponsor.

The Hot Rods will be adding a branded mini bar constructed from used Casey Jones Distillery barrels in the main stadium entrance as well as point of sale access for attendees on the concourse and Rhinehardt club. Guests will be able to purchase the full suite of small batch, craft moonshine produced by Casey Jones Distillery as well as several flavored Moonaritas the company has grown famous for at its distillery and tasting room.
