Well, the fine folks at Whiskey Thief Distilling have a solution for you at not just one but two locations that will allow you to fulfill your single barrel desires.
Whiskey Thief Distilling Co. in Frankfort, Kentucky offers whiskey fans an opportunity to taste bourbon and rye whiskey straight from the barrel, uncut, and unfiltered the way nature intended. The distillery has been offering this experience for a couple years now at their farm distillery and they’ve just opened a satellite location in Louisville’s NULU neighborhood at 619 Nanny Goat Strut Alley.
Whiskey fans can taste directly from five barrels. The day we visited Nanny Goat Strut there were four bourbons and one rye whiskey ranging in age from 5 to 7 years with proofs ranging from 118.8° to 126.4°. If you find a pull that you like you can grab a whiskey thief, fill a bottle, label it, cap it, and take it home with you on the spot. Easy-peasy!

Bonus Live Music Tracks from Chomsky Jazz Band
The day we were there for the opening we were entertained with music by Chomsky Jazz Band and vocals by Piper Madison. The bands multi-talented leader and drummer Dean Thomas often performs solo at the distillery. In addition to being a musician, Thomas also painted the mural of the farm that is hanging on the wall at the NULU tasting experience.
