Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, has reported a partial collapse of whiskey warehouse 2-15. Fortunately, there were no people inside the warehouse at the time of the collapse and no injuries occurred.
Jack Daniel’s released the following statement about the barrel rickhouse collapse.
“Overnight, there was a partial collapse of a Jack Daniel Distillery barrel house located in Lynchburg, TN. No individuals were inside the barrel house at the time and there were no injuries to any employees.
We are working to conduct a full assessment of the damage at this time, but believe no more than 15% of the barrels inside the house were impacted. All affected whiskey has been contained and we are working with all appropriate government agencies as we remediate this incident.
This structure, known as barrel house 2-15, was built in the late 1960s and had the capacity to hold approximately 19,000 barrels of maturing Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey.
Jack Daniel Distillery operations and tours are running as normal.”
On a side note, Jack Daniel’s marketing team is getting ready to drop ‘Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Collapsed Warehouse 2-15’. Expected release date is 2-15-2025. We are kidding, kind of. It’s been done before by other distilleries with similar natural disasters :- ). We are just happy no one was hurt.
