Alltech recently held it’s 31st annual symposium in Lexington, Kentucky. The event attracted more than 2,000 people from over 70 countries. I attended the tracks on Brewing and Distilling. On the brewing side, Alltech is known for it’s Kentucky Bourbon Ale. The made in Kentucky ale is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. On the distilling side, Alltech is known for it’s Town Branch Distillery. Named for the Town Branch waterway upon which Lexington was founded and once was the site of much bourbon production, Town Branch Bourbon celebrates Lexington’s rich distilling history.
Guests at this year’s event were taken to church with inspiring performances by Ronan Tynan. Ronan is best known as one of “The Irish Tenors”. Ronan has performed for multiple U.S. presidents, sung “God Bless America” at Yankee Stadium during the seventh-inning stretch and kicked off the Belmont Stakes to a rollicking start when Tynan—a passionate horseman himself—christened the race with a ringing rendition of “New York, New York.” He attributes his success to his faith and the knowledge that the Man Above guides him through every door he opens. You can learn more about Ronan’s amazing life’s journey on his web site here.
