We have some good news and we have some bad news. The good news is no Chivas Regal Scotch Whisky was harmed in the distribution of this special holiday gift pack. The bad news is that the special holiday gift pack included some glasses that may break during shipping and distribution to retailers and ultimately to customers. What seemed like a wonderful holiday gift idea has suddenly turned into a pain in the neck for Chivas.
The moral of the story is,
- Holiday promotions are wonderful but, pay close attention to your brands packaging as you distribute one-time glassware.
- Test, test, test. You spent years letting your whisky mature only to have a holiday glass giveaway damage your customers experience with your brand.

The company said that Chivas Brothers Limited in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Liquor & Gaming Authority has issued a recall of the Chivas Regal ‘The Art Of Hosting’ tumbler gift pack as a precautionary measure because of a possibility that the glass tumblers within the pack could be or could become damaged. All affected gift packs have been removed from all retail store shelves. No whisky within the gift pack, nor any Chivas product outside of this limited edition gift pack, is affected. Customers are advised to exercise caution when handling and opening the gift box and may return the gift pack to the retailer where they purchased it for a full refund.
The affected items are gift packs with a UPC # 5000299601822 on the bottom of the gift box. This product began selling in Saskatchewan after November 24, 2015.
