The 2020 pandemic has claimed another craft spirits event. The American Craft Spirits Association – ACSA has unfortunately had to make the tough decision to cancel this year’s in-person event that was scheduled to occur in Portland, Oregon home to 60+ craft spirit distilleries. The good news is an online virtual event is in the works for August 10-12, 2020.
Here’s the statement from the Association.
Dear Friend of the Industry,
In March when we postponed our ACSA Convention to August, we never dreamed the Coronavirus would compel us, once again, to abandon our event. However, the health and safety of our community of craft spirits producers is at the heart of our decision-making. After careful consideration, a review of Oregon’s phase reopening, and CDC guidelines, and input from our board members and staff.ACSA is canceling the in-person 7th Annual Distillers’ Convention and Vendor Trade Show set for August 7-9, 2020.
Our team is working diligently to invent new ways to connect, learn, and grow during this historic time. We are planning a virtual, live event to be held over August 10, 11, and 12 so hold the dates if you wish to be a part of the exciting new digital program. More information to follow.
Thank you for your continued support as we pave our way to continue to elevate and advocate on behalf of the craft spirits community.
Stay safe and be healthy,
Margie A.S. Lehrman, CEO
Earlier this year ACSA moved its annual craft spirits awards event to a virtual event. Curious who won the Best of Show or Best of Class Brandy, Gin, Rum, Vodka, Whiskey and more? We have all the results here – The Complete List: American Craft Spirits Association 2020 Award Winners.
The 2021 American Craft Spirits Association’s Convention and Trade Show is scheduled for February 28 through March 2 in Louisville, Kentucky.
