On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross the United States. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken and the air temperature will drop as if it were dawn or dusk. Part of the path of the upcoming eclipse will travel directly over Casey Jones Distillery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
To celebrate the upcoming day of darkness Casey Jones is marking the one-year countdown with not just one but two spirits releases beginning on April 8, 2023. The distillery will be releasing Total Eclipse Moonshine and Total Eclipse Bourbon.
Casey Jones Distillery Eclipse Moonshine & Bourbon
This isn’t the first go round for Casey Jones and an eclipse. Casey Jones Distillery was in the direct path on August 21, 2017. The Eclipse Moonshine has a mash bill of 50% corn and 50% cane and is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). The Eclipse Kentucky Straight Bourbon features a four grain mash bill made up of 75% corn, 10% wheat, 10% rye and 5% malted barley and is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
Experience Totality Eclipse Countdown
To kick off the one-year countdown to the 2024 eclipse, Casey Jones Distillery will be hosting a special event at the distillery on April 8th, 2023. Attendees will have the opportunity to bottle their own Total Eclipse Bourbon and enjoy delicious food from a local food truck. As the evening approaches, the Alonzo Pennington Band will take the stage to provide an evening of free music entertainment for all ages. This event is family and pet friendly. Woof!

Casey Jones Total Eclipse Bourbon has a suggested retail price $39.99 for a 375 or $59.99 for a 750. The Total Eclipse Moonshine has a suggested retail price of $19.99 for a 375mL or $34.99 for a 750mL bottle. Total Eclipse is available for purchase at Casey Jones Distillery now and select retail locations in the coming months.
