Casey Jones Distillery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky has announced the third release of their copper pot distilled Kentucky bourbon whiskey. This time around they made this bourbon using a soft Kentucky wheat mash bill along with heirloom Bloody Butcher corn.
“We are excited to offer this first batch of our wheated bourbon,” said Master Distiller Arlon “AJ” Casey Jones. “This offers so much flavor and I know you will love it. I’ve picked a barrel from this batch and am inviting folks out to harvest it and make your own bottle.”
The distillery’s first batch of Wheated Kentucky Straight Bourbon has been aged for 3 years in charred new oak barrels and is bottled at a barrel strength of 110° proof (55% ABV).
Jones says this batch is rendered with a deep golden amber caramel hue. The all-new bourbon features a velvety smooth mouthfeel with subtle sweetness and a slight nutty body.
