It happens every year, Movember sneaks up on us. Razors all over the globe slowly rust throughout the month. Bosses are heard complaining ad nauseum, “When are you going to cut that thing off?” Your answer, “December, maybe never!”
What is Movember?
Movember is the month formerly known as November, where men and women across the globe join together to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.
The Movember Foundation is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Since 2003, millions have joined the men’s health movement, raising $650 million and funding over 1,000 programs focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. Where Does the Money Raised for Movember Go?
According to their website, they invest strategically in four key focus areas to have an everlasting impact on men’s health. They work year-round with their global men’s health partners and academic and clinical institutions to ensure their programs accelerate improvements to some of the biggest health issues faced by men. In particular, they focus on:
- Prostate Cancer – Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men in the U.S.
- Testicular Cancer – Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men aged 15-34 in the US.
- Poor Mental Health – Around 1 in 4 adults in the US will experience a mental health problem in a given year.
- Physical Inactivity – Around half (53.8%) of American men meet the federal guidelines for physical activity.

Maybe It’s Time for a “Whisker Dam” With Your Next Highball
Do you hate the fact that when you take a swig of your favorite spirits or pint that your new ‘stache ends up dripping like a dog that just walked away from his water bowl? Well, if this is you, then we’ve discovered just the thing to fix the drip. In fact, inventors claim the Whisker Dam is like an umbrella for your face.
To fix the drip, all you have to do is drop this 100% copper (you know copper, just like your Grand Pappy’s still that sits back in the woods) piece on top of your favorite highball glass and problem solved. No more wasted spirits and no more dribble. It’s patriotic too since its made in the good ole USA. Best of all, it’s portable (again, just like that still in the back woods!) You can claim your own Whisker Dam here.

Should You Shave It Off In December?
Well, according to the folks at the American Mustache Institute the answer is no, no and heck no.
We should note biblical text — specifically the Dead Sea Scrolls — which specifically state that “each time a mustache is shaved, an angel in heaven dies and falls to earth.”
