Location, location, location. As any craft spirits distillery knows, success is all about distribution. That’s why the folks at Jeptha Creed Distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky are happy to announce they’ve expanded south of their home state border into Tennessee. Their spirits are now in four states including Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island and now Tennessee.
Jeptha Creed has partnered with Lipman Brothers to distribute their full line of vodka and six month old bourbon into Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville regions starting in October 2018. The full line of Jeptha Creed Vodka includes original, apple, blueberry, honey, coffee, and hot pepper flavors.
“Our line of vodka is truly Ground to Glass,” said Jeptha Creed Distillery Founder Joyce Nethery. “The process of deciding which distillery-grown and locally-sourced ingredients would marry well together to make a crisp, refreshing and delicious spirit that is great sipped neat or adapted into various cocktail recipes is a challenge I have cherished. Creating our line of vodkas has been both fun and rewarding. It’s a proud moment when we are able to distribute yet another delicious, natural Kentucky-proud spirit.”

Jeptha Creed’s roots are in farming and they are big believers in the Ground to Glass movement having a hand in every aspect of their spirit production starting with planting the crops and ending with distillation using all-natural ingredients from their family farm or other local farms. Among their unique, natural ingredients is non-GMO, heirloom varietal Bloody Butcher corn. This is the same bloody butcher corn they use to make their bourbon. It’s a favorite of the local wildlife who, according to Joyce, quite literally passed through a field of yellow corn to eat the Bloody Butcher. This variety of corn offers a unique, sweet nutty flavor that regular corn does not have. The Nethery’s also grow a variety of other ingredients on their farm including apples, pears, pecans, apricots, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, chocolate mint, peppermint, spearmint, strawberries, and basil. Many of these ingredients are present in their line of vodka.
“We’re so excited to be expanding distribution into Tennessee,” Autumn Nethery, Joyce’s daughter, co-owner and marketing director of Jeptha Creed said. “We’re really proud of the unique flavor profiles we’ve created with this line. Because we use all-natural ingredients, our flavored vodka doesn’t have a processed, artificial flavor that is present in many other flavored spirits.”
To kick off their Tennessee distribution, Jeptha Creed Distillery is participating in the 2018 Taste of Nashville event at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery on October 5th, 2018. Patrons will have the chance to sample various Jeptha Creed vodka flavors including hot pepper vodka (they are not kidding when they say HOT pepper), the perfect complement to the hot chicken contest taking place at the event.
