In case you were wondering if anyone was still making moonshine in the woods, the answer is Yes. After several anonymous tips, the local police in Harlan, KY discovered a moonshine still in the Smith community.
Harlan County Sheriff Leslie “Smitty” Smith, Chief Deputy Matt Cope along with Harlan County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the Smith area to attempt to locate the still. The still was located hidden in a wooded location, taken apart and taken into evidence by the sheriff’s office.
No arrests have been made after finding the still.
