Tattersall Distilling in Minneapolis, Minnesota is a craft spirits maker on a roll. Founded in 2015 the distillery recently expanded its distillation operation to keep up with current demand and prepare for expected growth as they start selling their spirits into six new states.
In a little more than two years since commercial launch, Tattersall now sells 22 products in the state of Minnesota, makes 30 unique spirits and distributes products in 16 states. The company will introduce their much-anticipated Barreled Rum early in 2018 as well as the first cases of Tattersall Straight Rye Whiskey.
“This kind of growth comes down to just two things,” says Jon Kreidler, Chief Officer, Tattersall Distilling, “dedicating the time and energy to distilling the finest spirits possible and building relationships with the very best retailers who truly know their markets.”

Tattersall Distilling is adding six new distribution markets to its sales portfolio. New territories include Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee and Rhode Island, bringing the total number of Tattersall sales markets to 16 nationally.
Tattersall core spirits will be sold in each market including Tattersall gin, aquavit, orange crema, grapefruit crema, sour cherry liqueur and creme de fleur in addition to other Tattersall products specifically purchased by each market. The new territories join 326 on premise and 108 off premise Tattersall customers across existing markets plus 813 locations in Minnesota.
“2017 has been an impressive growth year for Tattersall and the pace shows no signs of slowing into next year,” says Kreidler. “We’ve also added new, custom stills and fermenters, more production and warehousing space and are in conversations now with national-scope distribution partners in order to really prepare for the kind of nationwide business expansion that our investment in production will afford going forward.”
200% Increase in Production Capacity
All this growth requires additional space and equipment. The distillery has added 12,000 more square feet of production space in Tattersall’s Twin Cities’ distillery. New production equipment includes a new 1,000 mash cooker and 250 gallon hybrid still both manufactured by Vendome Copper and Brass Works, three new 1,200 gallon fermentation tanks and a new bottling line built by Liquid Packaging Solutions that will handle 1,200 bottles per hour.
Tattersall craft spirits and all-natural liqueurs are sold in more than 1,000 on- and off-premise outlets in 16 states across the country with more markets planned by the end of 2018. Tattersall is headquartered in 28,000 square foot of historic, renovated industrial space in North East Minneapolis, Minnesota.
