It was on National Bourbon Day in 2019 that J.W. ‘Wally’ Dant III, the great-great-great grandson of Joseph Washington ‘J.W.’ Dant, first announced his intentions to rebuild a distillery on the families’ ancestral distillery grounds. Just under two years later there is bourbon flowing from a still from a distiller named Dant.

Watch as the Log Still Express train brings guests to Log Still Distillery and hear from Dant himself and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. For the first time since 1961 bourbon is once again flowing from a still at DSP-KY-47 (Distilled Spirits Plant).

“It’s very humbling to be here and be standing before you and being able to say ‘The Dant’s are back in the bourbon business again’.
