Boundary Oak Distillery is nestled in the knobs of central Kentucky in Hardin County, the birthplace of our nation’s 16th President Abraham Lincoln and home to part of our nation’s gold supply at Fort Knox. With its beautiful woods, waterfall and natural limestone spring the land was clearly meant to be home to one of Kentucky’s great bourbon distilleries. At the base of a 100 year old oak tree springs some of the purist limestone water found in the knobs of central Kentucky. Originally the spring fed an 1800s school house located adjacent to our farm. Today, this natural spring is used to distill our small-batch bourbon, amber whiskey and moonshine, the first from Hardin County, Kentucky since Prohibition.
On October 18, 2013, Boundary Oak Distillery became the first legal producer of liquor in Hardin County, Kentucky since before Prohibition.
Boundary Oak Distillery Tours and Hours
We invite you to come see our distillery as it comes together, and taste our spirits. Tours are self guided with a film that starts at the bottom of each hour and typically last about 45 minutes. Tours with a tasting cost $8 per person, for guests over 21 years of age with a valid ID. Guests under 21 years of age or anyone who does not wish to taste may tour free of charge.
Hours: Monday-Saturday 12pm – 6pm and Sunday 1-6 pm
Large groups (15+) are asked to call in advance of their arrival so that we may better serve them.
Boundary Oak Distillery Spirits
Kentucky Amber Locked deep in the charred wood of spent Kentucky bourbon barrels, lives unique flavors that bourbon leaves behind. Our Kentucky Amber is pulled from the vestiges of these charred oak barrels that were stored aloft in the elements of central Kentucky. Honoring the pioneer spirit, Boundary Oak Distillery brings a new take on a time-honored tradition.
Boundary Oak Kentucky Moonshine 101 Proof Kentucky Moonshine 101 Proof is pot distilled using the natural spring fed water source from the base of Boundary Oak. It’s made in small batches the old fashioned way, using 100% cane sugar and a proprietary blend of ingredients. It’s great straight or used for mixing in your favorite cocktail recipes.
Boundary Oak Kentucky Moonshine 121 Proof Kentucky Moonshine 121 Proof is the highest proof, “legal” moonshine available in stores. Like our 101 Proof, Kentucky Moonshine 121 Proof is pot distilled using the natural spring fed water source from the base of Boundary Oak. It’s made in small batches the old fashioned way, using 100% cane sugar and a proprietary blend of ingredients.
Cinnful 69 Boundary Oak Distillery is proud to present Cinnful 69. Cinnful starts out as a 100% cane spirit. We then add the highest quality, natural cinnamon flavor available. At 69° proof, the end result is a cinnamon spirit that is nothing like the competition and is truly a cinnamon lover’s dream.
Blackhorse 1901 This 8-year, 80-proof, American Whiskey pays tribute to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment known as Blackhorse. The Blackhorse Association was founded in 1969 and incorporated a year later. Troopers of this regiment have bravely dedicated their lives to protecting America’s freedom and have served unswervingly in the Philippines, Cuba, Mexico, WWII, Vietnam, Border Legion, Iraq and NTC.
Lincoln Straight Bourbon This uncut bourbon is connected to the legendary, historic Abraham Lincoln – 16th President of the United States – who is well-known to Central Kentucky and well-respected by the nation and the world! This straight bourbon has been aging to its maturity in charred white oak barrels and is ready to be enjoyed responsibly.
Our products are always made in very small batches; typically one barrel at a time! Although we do not produce the volume of spirits that some do, you can still find our products in select stores.
