The Neeley Family Distillery in Sparta, Kentucky has been distilling for 11 generations. Unlike the days of running moonshine in the hills and hollers of Eastern Kentucky, this distillery operation owned by one of the youngest distillers in the state is totally legit and is paying taxes.
The distillery was founded in 2015 and opened in 2017. It’s one of the easiest distilleries to find as it sits right on Gate No. 2 at the Kentucky Speedway. It’s not just close to the NASCAR trak, it pretty much is the gate to the state’s largest race track and is also on the way to Belterra Casino Resort & Spa.

Now that they have a couple years of distilling under its belt, the Neeley Family Distillery recently became official members of the world famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour and The B-Line, the official gateway to bourbon country from the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati, Ohio area. There are more than a dozen other distilleries withing a 40 mile radius.
