Southern Distilling Company was built on the American dream and is proudly reigniting North Carolina’s whiskey tradition. As one of the largest state-of-the-art distilleries in the Southeast, you’ll find us in Statesville, NC at the crossroads of I-77 and I-40.
Staying true to our roots, we designed our facilities on a 20-acre campus where we welcome guests for distillery tours, bourbon tastings, crafted cocktails, and private events.
Our business is perfected through partnerships. We offer custom product development, co-packaging, and contract production. We live to create products that raise a glass to the simple joys of life together.
Southern Distilling Company Tours & Tastings
We love sharing the Southern Distilling Company story — and our products — with visitors. We offer tours daily, with a behind-the-scenes look at Statesville’s distilling legacy and Southern Distilling’s state-of-the-art distillery where we do everything from grain milling to bottling right here on site. Learn all about our whiskey making process, then join us for a tasting of our products.
We also offer our own cocktail bar where you can enjoy a craft cocktail made with our signature spirits or try our range with a flight. The cocktail bar is open during our regular hours, so stop by!
Southern Distilling Company is easily accessible from I-77 (exit 54), near the I-40 interchange. We’re conveniently located near the many Yadkin Valley and Swan Creek area wineries, and less than 90 minutes from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Asheville.
Days/Hours: Mon-Thurs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fri-Sat 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sun 12 to 5 p.m.

The Preserve (Event Center) – opening in summer 2023, our new event center will offer 12,000 square feet of gorgeous space on our scenic property. Southern Star Paragon Bottled-In-Bond – Wheated Straight Bourbon Whiskey – 100 proof is required for bottled-in-bond whiskey. And 100% of your attention is required to enjoy this unique bottled-in-bond wheated bourbon’s sweet and complex lineup of floral elements contained in a rich silky texture. Stick around long enough and you can soak up the warm flavors of ripe apple and dried apricot. Bottled at 100 proof.
Southern Star Paragon Cask Strength Single Barrel – Wheated Straight Bourbon Whiskey – This spicy, high proof bourbon was made for slow sipping. The most refined member of the Paragon family, its herbaceous, woody, and peppery notes are balanced by sweet mint, cardamom, and vanilla bean. Bottled at cask proof.
Southern Star Standard – High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey – Let yourself get lost in the subtle complexities of grain, vanilla, and spice flavors. Its sweet, pleasant hints of spicy rye and dry, yet smooth leather finish invites you to kick your boots off and stay in this moment a while. Bottled at 90 proof.
Southern Star Reserve – High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey – Additional time spent aging in the barrel has produced an outstanding gentle bourbon well worth the wait. Rye spiciness explodes on the palate without being overly aggressive. Complex aromas and flavors add to your enjoyment and produce a long, smooth, and exceptional finish. All those years in a barrel are well worth a few extra moments to slow down and truly enjoy it. Bottled at 100 proof. Only available in our Tasting Room.
Southern Star White Whiskey – Unaged Bourbon Whiskey – This whiskey is unlike any you’ve tasted before. This white whiskey has never seen the inside of a charred oak barrel, giving it the refreshing new cereal-forward nose that sets white whiskey apart. From the sweet smooth flavor to the pleasant finish, our award-winning white whiskey is a special treat. Bottled at 100 proof.
Southern Star Double Rye – A Blend of Straight Rye Whiskeys – Two remarkable straight rye whiskeys, countless hours and failed trials, one perfectly balanced bottle of rye whiskey. This delightfully herbaceous and citrusy spirit smooths into a sizzle that warms the mouth before melting into a vanilla sweetness that hangs toward the back of the palate. So, take a slow sip and a long while to see if you can’t figure out where one rye ends and the other begins. Bottled at 88 proof.
Southern Star Double Shot Bourbon Cream Liqueur – This creamy bourbon liqueur is a perfected blend of rich, delicious cream and sweet whiskey, with a hint of espresso-roast coffee flavor. Great on its own as a dessert, chilled, combined in a coffee cocktail or paired with ice cream. Bottled at 30 proof.
