Distilleries use a variety of tanks including fermentation tanks, storage tanks, transportation tanks, mash tun tanks, spent grain tanks and more. Tanks can be open top or closed top depending on the requirements of the distillery. Some fermentation tanks are made of wood but the vast majority are made from stainless-steel. Tanks may include cooling or heating tubes built into each tank. And of course don’t forget the venting of these tanks.
